Turn Comments Off
Removes comments from WordPress entirely, with nothing to configure.

What it does
On a site that doesn’t use comments, what’s left of them is spam to moderate, a settings screen nobody opens, and clutter in the admin. Activate Turn Comments Off and all of it goes:
- Comments and pingbacks are closed on everything, existing and new.
- “Comments” leaves the admin menu, and “Discussion” leaves Settings.
- The comment bubble leaves the admin bar.
- “Recent Comments” leaves the dashboard.
- The comments feed is gone, and so are the comment blocks in the editor.
- On a multisite network, when network activated, “Manage Comments” leaves the My Sites menu.
There is no settings page, because there is nothing to set.
What to know
- Nothing is deleted. Existing comments stay in the database. Deactivate the plugin and WordPress’s comments come back as they were.
- It works per site or per network. Activate it on one site, or network activate it for every site at once.
- Other plugins see no comments. Anything that queries them gets an empty answer. If one of yours breaks, tell us on GitHub.
